About
Meet Your
Speech Therapist
Olivia Joiner, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
I’m Olivia, Founder and Speech-Language Pathologist at Where Language Blooms. I’ve been a pediatric speech therapist since 2013. I’m endlessly devoted to staying current with the most innovative strategies and evidence-based practices. I’ve spent countless hours in courses specific to working with children with Autism, Apraxia of Speech, Executive Functioning challenges, and Language Disorders. You can check out additional information about my coursework later on this page!
For most of my career, I’ve provided speech therapy in outpatient settings, collaborating alongside some amazing clinicians, including OTs, PTs, BCBAs, and RBTs. That’s a lot of letters, but most importantly, I learned from each of these individuals to see my clients through a holistic lense. You’ll often find me in session incorporating recommendations from other disciplines. I love including sensory-strategies, gross motor activities, and finding what motivates my clients.
I strongly believe speech therapists should have a variety of tools and strategies in their toolbox and I’m a huge speech nerd. I love learning! There’s no one-size fits all approach to working with little humans and I enjoy the challenge of incorporating different aspects of what I’ve learned over the years and how it might apply to working with the client in front of me in that moment. I’m passionate about creating an environment where learning is fun and engaging.
Outside of therapy, I’m a sewist and quilter! I have two pups - Mitch and Jessie - and love being outside with them. I’ve been married for over 10 years to my husband, David. We enjoy traveling and exploring new places, as well as being absolute couch potatoes on weekends!
Look forward to getting to know you and your family!
