Play-based Speech Therapy

Therapy will look completely different for each child, their unique needs, and their interests!

Sessions can be adapted to incorporate your child’s interests and favorite activites. Some our our favorite activities to include in sessions are:

  • Toys, anything from our favorite Spinagain toy, vehicles, dinosaurs, and pretend food!

  • Gross motor activities - bring on the swings, tunnels, jumping, and climbing! Even better if your child’s preschool or clinic has an outside area.

  • Hands-on activities & crafts - science experiments, fun crafts, play-doh

  • Books, often paired with play, are often included in our sessions and we’d love to teach you how to do this at home, too.

Sometimes our early learners aren’t as interested in play, that’s okay, too! We’ll incorporate their interests into sessions. We’re able to use it all for learning.

Community-based Speech Therapy

We bring our play-based, child-led speech therapy approach to your child at their preschool or daycare.

In community-based settings, you might find that our session is impacted by what is going on in your child’s clinic or school that day, we can navigate jumping into most classroom activities!

Speech Therapy in ABA Clinics

Our Speech therapist has years of experience collaborating with Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians.

Pushing into an ABA clinic for speech therapy means:

  • Discussing your child’s speech goals regularly with their RBT and BCBA

  • Collaborating on teaching strategies and treatment planning with your child’s BCBA

  • Demonstrating communication skills that may support your child’s RBT in implementing these skills throughout your child’s day

  • Collaboration with use of AAC devices, including training of staff on how to support AAC users

  • Having the support of your child’s behavior team in the event that complex, challenging behaviors arise during session
